Worked before and after school in the stables for my father, learning the basics of thoroughbred husbandry, namely picking up yards and learning to ride the slower horses.

Disillusioned with 7 days a week work for $10 dollars a week, joined the Navy to run away from my tyrannical masters in the horse trade .)

Working in different establishments - all horse orientated - in Austria, France and in England

1984-1989

Stable hand & licensed track rider

Worked for several leading trainers including Mr. Lou Luciani (leading trainer 1994 to 1999) and Mr. Buster O’malley (leading trainer in the first half of the 80’s) educating young horses in a pre training stable and riding problem horses.

I also free lanced for various other trainers and learnt basic farrier in my spare seconds.

Studied Farriery at Muresk Agricultural College, obtained certificate, ranked 3rd in class

5 years of full time horse shoeing / last 2 years incorporating a physio clinic

1994-1997 Manager Ravenswood Rehabilitation Clinic

Running a physiotherapy clinic for horses in partnership with a human physio therapist, mainly treating bowed or strained tendons, bad backs and necks. Receiving referrals from several forward thinking veterinarians.
